Juana Help Women Find Mental
Health Support

My core belief is Oppression and Emotional Suppression for women have no value if we can empower ourselves. I want to continue my journey as a woman to help other women acknowledge their own worth.

MY Bio

For Seventeen years, I had the opportunity of assisting patients and their families as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW at a Los Angeles Medical Center.

I have provided support for the homeless, people with chronic illnesses, mental health concerns, food scarcity. I’ve assisted those in need of adult protective services, and child protective services. I have provided mental health treatment for those at end of life with hospice and mental wellness for people diagnosed with cancer. I have facilitated women’s cancer support groups for many years and provided mental health treatment for patient’s diagnosed with a serious illness.

I obtained a Masters of Social Worker at Fresno State College and completed my clinical hours at a Los Angeles Medical Center.

With my Culinary Certificate from Institute of Culinary Education, I.C.E my desire is to provide nutritional cooking classes and skills for women in all capacities, women that are less fortunate, women and children in shelters and women with a chronic illness.

I want to influence them with the art of cooking to help with their anxieties, depression and self-esteem. And most importantly provide them with a safe place to share their stories as we dine together as a group.

MY TESTIMONY

“On the day I could not find a place to stay, it was a women’s shelter that provided me with housing for myself and my two young children. Until I could stand on my own it was a shelter for women who nourished me back to finding my inner strength.”
